Touch of Spring

Oh, the smell of spring is in the air.

Myer Lemon Tree

I believe in the power of prayer. I am sad to say that my dad was just diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer. He is having excruciating pain in his back due to the spread of the cancer. The pain medicine helps a little but not much relief. It is a difficult time for my whole family and it hurts me to see how much pain he is having to endure. I love my dad so much and we are taking it one day at a time and remembering that each day is a blessing.

If you don't mind...please remember him in your prayers. Thank you so much!

So sorry to hear that. I share your situation, and while I don't think a prayer will heal anything, I know for sure it won't hurt anybody, either, so I'll keep your dad and your family in mind.

Oh Amy, I am so sorry to hear about your dad. My thoughts and prayers are with him and your entire family. I lost my dad to cancer several years ago and I understand how painful it is. Stay strong! xx!

My poor Meyer is still hiding under a frost cloth, I can't believe yours is blooming!

I am so terribly sorry to read about your father's stage IV diagnosis, and I'm so sorry he's in so much pain. I hope his Doctors can make him more comfortable. Sending prayers for his comfort, and for your strength.

Lost my father-in-law two years ago. He did not know about his cancer until it was too late. The hard part for me was getting through the denial of his immediate family when my husband told them. Spend time with him and make great memories to keep. Prayers for strength and comfort to your family.

Amy, I'm so sorry to hear about your father. Have you and your family considered contacting your local Hospice organization? Their focus is on quality of life, rather than on the quantity of days/weeks/months/years left. They are masters of managing pain to make each day the best it can be. (My mother had Hospice services when she was dying, and her experience was so much better and more humane than my father's had been a few years earlier.) My thoughts are with you and your family. -Jean
